El federalista, publicado en 1788 en forma de libro, es una recopilación de los artículos periodísticos que defendieron la ratificación de la Constitución federal para Estados Unidos escritos por tres de las principales figuras en la campaña a favor de la misma: Alexander Hamilton, James Madison y John Jay (bajo el pseudónimo de Publius).
